Time flies sometimes

Wow, it has been a little while now since I actually posted something that really meant anything but you'll just have to deal with that. I did say that it wouldn't be consistent. But then I look back on the last week and wonder why I haven't posted anything new. Oh well, here goes:

So the last week or so has been good. I still can't believe how little work I have to do right now. I have alot of spare time at school, at least compared with last semester I have alot of time, and so lately I have been working ahead because I know that later things should get crazy. I like to colour code my schedule and there are some weeks coming with alot in them. The problem is that I can't get started on any of the big things so I'm getting the little things out of the way. Anyways, back to the exciting adventures of Becky!

Last week started nice and slow and then Earlene arrived on Wednesday. It was nice to see her again and we had some fun. I spent time showing her around Edmonton and on Friday night we were able to go to the symphony. oh the memories :) For those of you non-Capers, when we were in New Zealand we went to the symphony one night and Earlene and I both went. It was really good and so the symphony in Edmonton brought back memories. It also meant that I got to show off one of the best things in Edmonton. Everyone comes to see West Ed but it's not that exciting. However, the world class concert hall the Winspear Centre is something to go check out. It's not that big but it was designed for acoustics and it is really cool to play there too. Anyways, enough Edmonton pride (I'm sure some of you are gagging by now, hehehe)

Earlene left Saturday at 1, heading to Red Deer to spend some time with Raymond before heading to Calgary to head home again. The rest of my weekend was fairly uneventful. I had to play my trumpet in church Sunday morning, which meant getting up extra early but whatever. Then I spent the afternoon watching football (Go Seahawks!) and then I went to my soccer game. I scored again! That's a 3 game scoring streak, how fun! I guess this is a new excitment for me who's used to stopping all the shots to have a scoring streak but it's fun. We tied 1-1. The team we were playing had 2 players that I have coached with/played with so it was fun to see them again and catch up a bit.

This week has been pretty good. I have been extremely sore since Tuesday though. Rugby training has started and we're focusing on core training to get us all in shape. Wow, I am out of shape! but hopefully that will get better and we should be going full speed by the time the season starts at the end of April. (I'm so excited! I've started having rugby dreams, hehehe. Yes I know I'm weird) Also, I posted a few weeks ago about playing intramural hockey and found out that I can go play so that starts next week. I'm uber excited about that.

I'm sure it seems like I'm busy but I'm writing this at school right now because I have run out of things to do! Anyways, that's all folks. Until next time have some fun :):):)

Some Explanations

It seems I neglected to mention some things about my last post that need to be addressed. Well actually, I guess it's only one thing but nonetheless I will address it.

I play indoor soccer during the off season (as in not rugby season) with my rugby teammates and a few other people we were able to rope into playing with us. For those of you who don't know, I have played soccer since I was 9 and have usually been the goalkeeper. However, with this team there is another person who likes to play goal and she's quite good so I play out instead of in net unless she is not there. Last night I played the first half in net because she was late and then played the second half as defence. Oh, and just in case you were wondering, I have scored from net multiple times but last night was not one of those times.

Adios

Christmas and After

Well here goes my first attempt at a real post. Unless of course you count my welcome as a real post but I don't so I guess it really doesn't matter, hehehe. If you haven't been here yet then look below to feel welcomed.

Christmas was pretty good. My sister Rachel got home(she's normally in Montreal for school) 3 days before I was done exams. Then the day exams ended I had a huge party at my house. We have a party every year with all the Young Adults and do a white elephant or useless gift exchange, whatever you want to call it. I ended up with a 2006 Rugby calendar! I couldn't understand why anyone would think that was useless but whatever, :) Then I finished my Christmas shopping on Wednesday. On Friday my sister had a recital and on Christmas Eve we had another party at my house. It was a crazy week.

Then Christmas arrived! We had a fairly relaxing day but had to get up early to go to church. Then headed out for another wonderful Christmas day meal. I get royally spoiled almost every holiday. We usually get together with friends of ours and both my mom and Mrs. Skinner are amazing cooks. Yum:)

On boxing day we headed to Banff to go skiing but were only able to stay for 1 day as my dad had to get back to work. The rest of the Holidays were fairly lazy. Lots of sleeping in and a bit of shopping. On New Years we headed to another friends house and played games for New Years. Then we head home around 1 or 2 but since my sister was leaving at 6:50 am to go back to Montreal my sisters and I and one of her friends just stayed up all night. It was my first all nighter since my trip home (I had a layover overnight in LA and didn't have an alarm clock so I stayed up) and it royally screwed up my clock.

School started on Monday and has gotten to a pretty slow start. I can tell you this much though, it will be much better then last semester. I actually have to watch the Superbowl as an assignment. I know, such a hard life :)

Well, the second week starts tomorrow and Earlene arrives on Wednesday for a visit so it should be interesting. Oh, Simon we had our first game tonight and I scored so I guess I fulfilled your request. We didn't win though but I can't do everything, :)
